* Foldable pages - This is what we work with in book folding, a foldable page is one complete sheet of paper, the front & the back of a page (leaf)

Getting Started
Reading A Pattern
My Patterns come with 4 columns
Fold No: This is the number of the fold you are working with.
Page No: This is left blank so you can write in pencil what the actual page number in the book is, so you don’t get lost and loose which page you are working on. You will always be marking and folding the right hand page as you look at the book.
Top: This is the measurement you need to mark first. This needs to be marked on the right hand page Measurements are always
taken from the TOP of the page.
Bottom: This is the next measurement that needs to be marked with your pencil on the same page, always take the measurement from the top of the page.

Marking Your Pages
When reading the pattern you will see the first measurement is 6.5cm and the 2nd measurement is 8.2cm mark these with your pencil on the right hand side of the page as the images below shown. Remember the measurements are always taken from the top of the page, you do not need to move the ruler.
Always marks and fold the right hand side of book
Always measure from top of the page

Folding Your Page

Place the set square to form a right angle at the spine and the top pencil mark and carefully fold the corner of the top of the page down to the set square and form a nice clean crisp crease.
Next turn the set square over and form a right angle at the spine and the bottom pencil mark and carefully fold the corner of the bottom of the
page up to the set
square and form a nice clean crisp crease.
You have completed your first folded page.
Now continue following the pattern for all folds, until the pattern is complete.
You may have pages left over due to the amount of pages in your book. As you gain experience with your book folding you can start to position your pattern more central making sure you have equal amount of pages each side of the finished design. These can either be left in place or carefully removed depending on your required finish, both look great.
